There are three uses for colored LEDs that are important to hunters:

• Stealth: Many game animals do not notice colored light beams as much as bright white light beams or do not see colored beams at all.
• Safety: A colored LED lets other hunters know you are in the area.
• Night Vision: It takes about 30 minutes for your eyes to reach maximum vision in the dark.  This is referred to as "night vision".  If your eyes have adjusted to the dark and you turn on a bright white light, it will take another 30 minutes to recover your night vision again.  Colored LEDs do not affect night vision as much as LEDs do.
