THIS HOLSTER IS DESIGNED TO FIT BROWNING MODEL 1911-22 AND MODEL 1911-380 HANDGUNS ONLY. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THIS HOLSTER WITH ANY OTHER TYPE OR MODEL OF HANDGUN. NEVER ATTEMPT TO MODIFY THE HOLSTER IN ANY WAY OTHER THAN EXPLAINED IN THIS INSTRUCTION SHEET. Do not use this holster with handguns that have been modified, are not of original factory specifications, or are fitted with aftermarket parts, including triggers or trigger shoes. Aftermarket modifications may cause improper holster fit and result in an accidental handgun discharge.

BROWNING STRONGLY RECOMMENDS CHECKING THE FIT OF YOUR UNLOADED HANDGUN WITH THIS HOLSTER BEFORE USE. Browning also suggests that you practice using your unloaded handgun and holster combination in a safe environment on a regular basis. Periodically check your handgun and holster for proper fit and function in a safe environment. Should the holster become worn, loose, broken, defective, or ill-fitting CEASE USE IMMEDIATELY.

NEVER CHAMBER A CARTRIDGE OR MOVE THE “SAFETY” FROM THE ON SAFE POSITION UNLESS SHOOTING IS IMMINENT. AS A STANDARD SAFETY PROCEDURE, BROWNING RECOMMENDS CARRYING YOUR 1911-22 OR 1911-380 PISTOL WITH THE HAMMER LOWERED AND THE CHAMBER EMPTY. Browning strongly warns against carrying the handgun in the “cocked and locked” position (i.e., hammer cocked with a cartridge in the chamber and the thumb “safety” engaged). Be aware that carrying your handgun in the “cocked and locked” position increases the risk of accidental discharge. Browning accepts no responsibility for any injury, loss, or damage that may result from “cocked and locked” carry.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MANUALLY COCK THE HAMMER OF YOUR HANDGUN WHILE IT IS HOLSTERED AS THIS MAY CAUSE AN ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE. Your holstered handgun should be held in place using your hand during vigorous physical activity. Keep your thumb on the back of the hammer or slide when inserting your handgun in the holster. Always keep your fingers clear of the trigger when drawing or replacing your handgun in the holster. Place your index finger on the outside of the trigger guard to help prevent any inadvertent interference by a foreign object or clothing when re-holstering.

ALWAYS FOLLOW ALL LOCAL, STATE, AND FEDERAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS REGARDING THE OPEN OR CONCEALED CARRYING OF YOUR FIREARM, EITHER ON OR ABOUT YOUR PERSON OR IN YOUR VEHICLE. ALWAYS MAINTAIN A SAFE AND PRUDENT LEVEL OF SECURITY AND CONTROL OVER YOUR HANDGUN TO PREVENT ANY UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS OR USE.
