X-Bolt 2 Target Competition Lite

One of the most popular competitions is the National Rifle League Production Class. Here, shooters are limited in weight and the modifications they can make to their rifle. Thus, the out of the box features, quality, and accuracy that their rifle possesses are paramount. The new X-Bolt 2 Target Competition Lite has the features needed to move you into the next round.

The foundation of this rifle is a new full-diameter, target receiver that is stiffer and heavier to better stabilize the rifle. The interior of the receiver has also been redesigned with additional bolt guidance surface area for smoother operation. An alignment flat is machined into the top of the receiver to aid in scope alignment/leveling. The recoil lug is pinned to the receiver to ensure perfect orientation if the barrel needs to be replaced. The included 20 MOA Picatinny optics rail is held in place with four oversize 8-40 screws and an additional steel pin that secures the rail to the receiver. The redesigned spiral fluted bolt features an extended handle to reduce opening force and an ergonomic new knob. 

The Xtra Capacity Magazine System gives you the extra rounds to get you through a station and utilizes popular Accuracy International Chassis System (AICS) pattern magazines. (These magazines are available in 5- and 10-round capacity.) X-Bolt Target rifles ship with one MDT 10-round polymer box magazine. (For optimal feeding reliability we recommend MDT 10-round and Magpul^® 5-round magazines.) The front of the magazine well is sturdy enough to be used as a barrier stop.

The patent-pending Browning Target DLX Trigger brings the light touch you need for accurate shooting. This three-lever design has zero creep, zero take-up, zero overtravel and a glass-like break. The Target DLX is adjustable with a range of 2 to 3.3 lb and comes factory set at 2.5 lb. 

To achieve the 12-pound weight in the popular NRL Production Class (rifle, optics and mounts), this rifle is fitted with a precision carbon fiber barrel from Preferred Barrels. This stainless steel barrel features top-quality construction, is button rifled, and stress relieved. Our own extensive research and testing of Preferred Barrels products ensures their quality levels and accuracy. The barrels use a stronger, stiffer carbon fiber wrapping process rather than simple carbon fiber sleeve construction like less expensive designs that offer the carbon fiber look without the functional benefits gained by the wrapping process. The barrel is suppressor ready with 5/8"-24 SR threads and includes a tunable Recoil Hawg Competition muzzle brake that effectively reduces felt recoil for improved shooting comfort — a must in competition. The action is also bedded and the barrel is free floated for consistent accuracy. 

The Vari-Tech stock is configurable with adjustment that is on par with many chassis-style stocks. Changes can be easily made to the comb height to dial-in the alignment between your eye and optics. Length of pull is adjusted internally with spacers for a solid, rattle-free feel. Even the grip angle can be changed by switching between the vertical grip and optional sporter modules. On the subject of grip, rubber overmolding on the gripping surfaces provides added security in all conditions.

In the heat of competition, fractions of a second can determine success or failure. When fit to your dimensions, the Vari-Tech stock creates a rifle that feels like an extension of your body, assisting in sending an accurate first shot downrange sooner and the advantage of faster, more accurate follow up shots. 

A Picatinny rail on the bottom of the forearm is included and makes attaching today's precision, rail-mounted bi-pods a snap. The rail is also easily removable and an additional mounting point makes it easy to mount the popular ARCA/Swiss rail (not included).
