Experience the Evolution of Accuracy with the New Browning X-Bolt 2.

XBolt2 Speed Rifle
XBolt2 Speed Rifle

With the introduction of the X-Bolt, Browning set a new standard in the development of bolt-action rifles. It was created around the goal of Total Accuracy, where every component worked in unison to improve downrange performance — straight out of the box. From windswept tundras to rocky peaks high above the treeline to African plains and everywhere in between, the X-Bolt delivered the tack-driving accuracy a Browning rifle is respected for.

Still, even with precision construction and the integration of technologies that characterize the X-Bolt, there's always room for improvements in performance to be had — notably how well the rifle fits the shooter. New X-Bolt 2 rifles with the Vari-Tech stock address the interaction between the rifle and the shooter, offering the adjustability of a chassis-style precision stock while retaining the appearance of a traditional hunting stock.

In addition to the Vari-Tech stock, the other changes to the X-Bolt 2 are the result of nothing short of the relentless scrutiny of every inch of the X-Bolt. From the design of the thicker Inflex recoil pad to the refined, adjustable DLX trigger to the option of a carbon fiber barrel, the X-Bolt 2 encourages accuracy.

Meeting the expectations of the Browning name isn't easy, and exceeding them is tougher still when trying to one-up a rifle with the reputation of the X-Bolt. But the X-Bolt 2 has done it by delivering improved performance and continuing the promise of Total Accuracy.

VARI-TECH STOCK

An often overlooked piece of the accuracy puzzle is the interface between the rifle and the shooter. After all, a rifle isn't one size fits all, and how well a rifle fits is vital for consistent and repeatable accuracy.

Browning has solved the dilemma of proper fit with the new Vari-Tech stock that offers length of pull, comb height, and grip angle adjustments to ensure your rifle is tailored to you. Rubber overmolding enhances grip in tough conditions. Learn More...

DLX TRIGGER

An excellent trigger is a key part of the Browning Total Accuracy concept.

The new DLX trigger is a multiple lever design that optimizes sear weight and trigger movement for an even more consistent and crisp break with zero creep, zero take-up, and zero overtravel. Pull weight is adjustable down to 3 lb. (Factory pre-set at approximately 3-1/2 lb.)

PLUS MAGAZINE SYSTEM

Hunters and competitive target shooters that want to carry a couple of extra rounds in their rifle can take advantage of the new Plus Magazine System.

Developed from the ground up for X-Bolt 2 rifles, the Plus Magazine System uses an in-house designed, extended polymer magazine to increase capacity by two rounds depending on caliber.

Cartridges are fed from the center of the magazine for straight to the chamber feeding. The magazine also has shoulder retention to protect the tip of the bullet from striking the front of the magazine during recoil.

A sturdy metal magazine well keeps the release button within easy reach on the right-hand side of the rifle.

REDESIGNED BOLT

The redesigned bolt features new styling that is highlighted by an ergonomic bolt knob shape. The bolt body is machined from solid steel bar stock for strength and custom rifle precision and has three locking lugs providing exceptional bolt strength.

Short 60˚ bolt lift is fast cycling and allows the hand to easily clear a scope.

ROTARY MAGAZINE

Hunting rifles use our proven reliable rotary magazine. The rotary magazine is removable, durable, easy to load and feeds rounds straight to the chamber from the center line, not off to the side like other rifles. This unique design holds U.S. patent numbers: 8,156,675; 8,484,875 and 8,745,912.

INFLEX RECOIL PAD

A soft Inflex recoil pad features internal directional ribs that move the comb down and away from the cheek to increase shooting comfort.

Rifles with the Vari-Tech stock are fitted with a thicker, 1-1/4" thick pad for an even greater reduction in felt recoil. A 1" thick pad is also available to reduce length of pull.

MUZZLE BRAKES

Many X-Bolt 2 rifles feature a removeable muzzle brake.

Recoil Hawg muzzle brakes are engineered to reduce felt recoil by as much as 76%, depending on the caliber.

Radial-style muzzle brakes on some rifles also reduce felt recoil and can be easily upgraded to a Recoil Hawg.

A thread protector is included with most hunting and long range hunting rifles.

PRECISION BARRELS

Steel barrels are button rifled and triple checked for interior finish, straightness and air-gauged for uniformity.

Every chamber is hand-reamed for precision accuracy and a recessed muzzle crown helps protect the rifling from damage.

Select calibers incorporate faster twist rates to better stabilize longer, heavier bullets.
