The Yellow Banner — The general explanation for when a product or model says "No Longer in Production" (with the yellow highlight) is that the firearm is no longer an active product in the current Browning product line. However, most individual products (especially calibers) that are listed as out of production are likely still available at some very limited firearms dealers — although they may be difficult to locate. In most cases "No Longer in Production" usually means the same as "discontinued at this time." Many Browning firearms return to production on an intermittent basis -- with some production occurring a few years or shorter apart. This is especially true of SHOT Show Specials and limited production for a specific dealer. 

A Service — Our listing of products that are "No Longer in Production" is provided as a service to those who seek after interesting and difficult to find firearms or simply firearms that are no longer in the current line but that they may be looking for at dealers who have inventory in stock or in the used market in general. Many firearms with yellow banners are researched many times over the years by owners and those looking for them in the used market. We do our best to keep all specifications as accurate as possible, but it is always important to review the features of a Browning firearm with the dealer before you purchase, especially with older products.  

Check the Pull-Down — In some cases, a caliber or several calibers may be out of production -- and listed as such -- while the model in other calibers is still available. If a product is found in the "current products" listing and you see the "No Longer in Production" banner, be sure to use the pulldown to check other calibers. 

Helping our Dealers — There is almost always a lag between the time a dealer can no longer order a firearm and the time it will appear as "No Longer in Production." This is a service to allow our dealers to move the product from their inventory in a timely manner. We continue to promote and sell all new Browning products in the marketplace for a reasonable time no matter what their orderable status is. This time varies and is solely at our discretion. For this reason, it is possible for a product to appear as in production when it may be out of production at that specific time.
