It is quick, compact, well balanced and easy to carry due to its high-strength, lightweight aircraft grad aluminum alloy receiver, composite trigger guard and magazine floorplate. The barrels on all LongTracs are hammer-forged by FN in Belgium, insuring bolt-action accuracy. The proven seven-lug rotary bolt system engages tightly into the barrel to further improve accuracy and provide the strength necessary to handle the most popular magnum cartridges. The system is operated by gases from the spent cartridge, reducing punishing recoil to manageable levels. The stocks are all adjustable.
