Beautiful and full-featured, the Citori 825 Golden Clays Trap offers demanding shooters a shotgun that will satisfy their need for performance and elegance. This model combines all the advantages that have made Browning over and under shotguns key players at every trap shoot in the world, plus the advantages of a re-styled, low-profile receiver that puts a fresh face on this trap range leader.
The new Citori 825 is the latest in the storied lineage of Browning over and under shotguns that began with John M. Browning and his legendary B25 Superposed. This new model shares a number of features with the original, the most important being the easy handling prowess that feels nothing short of intuitive. It is quick to the shoulder, natural to point, and effortless to swing.
What's New
What's New
Like the B25 and other Citori models, Citori 825 shotguns rely on the blueprint of the renowned full-width hinge and tapered locking lug design to provide maximum strength and unstoppable reliability for a shotgun that will outlast every other. All of this durability is stuffed inside a low-profile receiver that offers advantages to the shooter, as well. The reduced height of the receiver lowers the bore line of the barrels to optimize swing and pointability, while also putting the barrels more in line with the shoulder to better control felt recoil and minimize muzzle jump for more accurate second shots.
True to its name, the receiver is where the changes that highlight the Citori 825 begin, where new styling and engraving artwork alter both shape and appearance. The Citori 825 Golden Clays Trap makes use of the receiver, trigger guard, and forearm lever to decorate with traditional, deep relief scroll engraving that is accented with gold.
Visual differences don’t end with the receiver, the beautifully figured Grade V/VI walnut stock and forearm receive a satin finish and subtle new styling cues that accentuate the aggressive new look of the Citori 825 receiver shape. The receiver is protected from wear and corrosion by a durable silver nitride finish.
Not Just Looks
Not Just Looks
Much is made of triggers on rifles, but the performance of a trigger on a shotgun is just as important. A clean breaking trigger is a key component to breaking more clays. Which is why the popular mechanical trigger from the Citori 725 has been enhanced to offer even better performance and lighter pull weights than ever before. The all-new Fire Lite 2 Mechanical Trigger of the 825 adds dependability with extra light loads, while still maintaining its crisp, clean feel. Keeping with the storied design of the past, all Citori 825 target models maintain the pivotal Triple Trigger System. This system allows for adjustments on the position of the trigger, giving a wider range of length of pull. It also comes with three different trigger shoes to further customize the fit and feel of the gun in a shooter’s hand.
Other new features added to the Citori 825 Golden Clays Trap center around the interface with the shooter. The controls have been redesigned, with the shape of the safety/selector making it easier to use. The top lever is more ergonomic, easier to operate, and the styling blends with the looks of the new receiver. Even the forearm latch has been scrutinized with the larger lever making it easier to remove the forearm. These intuitive operations on the mechanics of the Citori 825 will lead to more confidence on the trap line.
Long days at the range are made easier with the addition of the GraCoil® Recoil Reduction System. Recoil can take its toll on a shooter, affecting performance and enjoyment. The GraCoil system features a compression buttplate with an adjustable tension setting and adjustable pad plate. Adjustments for length, drop, and rotation allow the stock to fit any shooter's style. Tension will adjust from 14 lb. to 70 lbs. with a maximum stroke of 5/16" which produces a hardly detectable response time, with no distractions between shots. The length of pull feature allows for up to 1 inch of adjustment. Moving parts slide on Teflon® liners for smooth and trouble-free motion. The GraCoil system is a staple of trapshooters worldwide, offering the advantages of adjustable felt recoil control, and customizable length of pull and butt pad location. A Graco adjustable comb is also featured, which allows for proper head alignment and improved sight picture, as well as overall fit and feel.
A high-post rib, as found on the 825 Golden Clays Trap, is advantageous when clay targets come from below the shotgun's sight plane. Having the rib higher above the top barrel allows the shooter to see targets earlier. The high rib also allows the shooter to shoot from a more comfortable, upright stance. Add to that the 70/30 point of impact and this allows a shooter to hold at the bottom edge of a clay, keeping the target in view and watching the clay break during the swing. A floating rib prevents point of impact shifts caused by barrel heating as it allows the rib and barrel to expand independently.
All Citori 825 shotguns feature Total Barrel Dynamics – the combination of lengthened Vector Pro forcing cones, Back-Bored Technology, and the Invector-DS interchangeable choke tube system – working in unison to optimize shot pattern performance. Each component of Total Barrel Dynamics plays a part to reduce shot deformation, improve pattern density, and put more pellets on the target. To support that, the Golden Clays Trap comes with five extended choke tubes; Full, Light Full, Modified, and two Improved Modified. Shot patterns are consistent and the versatility of the choke tubes allows shooters to adjust the size and scope of that pattern, depending on the needs of the target.
In all, the Citori 825 Golden Clays Trap is the perfect trap shotgun for anyone who needs exceptional performance and good looks on the trap range.
