Another Browning/Briley is for the history books.
The Browning/Briley Sporting Clays Championship Shoot was held this past week at the beautiful Caney Creek Hunting and Shooting Resort in Teague, Texas. Now in its 16th year, the Browning/Briley continues to be one of the largest sporting clays shoots of the year with 519 competitors braving the unsettled weather that Texas has experienced all spring long.

Competitors enjoyed a moderately set Main Course with many scores in the 90’s posted. When it was all said and done, Cory Kruse captured HOA with a blistering 194/200. Desirae Edmunds posted an impressive 183/200 to take High Lady for her second year in a row.

Shooters were treated to a Saturday night banquet fit for a king where nine Browning firearms and thousands of dollars in Briley certificates were given away.
This shoot has gained a reputation of being one of the most fun and most enjoyable sporting events of the year for all classes, not just the big guns.

About the Shoot.
The Browning Briely is one of the sport’s traditional major sporting clays shoots. This year it was hosted by Caney Creek Shooting Sports and is the 16th Browning-Briley, an NSCA Mega Blast event. Competitors are able to get their fill of shooting from April 8 through 15, as the Browning-Briley offers 1350 targets in all. In addition to the 200-bird Main Event, shooters competed for the Prelim, 5-stand, sub-gauge events, Super Sporting, pump gun, side-by-side, and the Adios Cup.
ITASC shooters had a main, FITASC Prelim, and FITASC small-gauge events as well. Shooters had several opportunities to win special prizes from the title sponsors. Main Event HOA earned $2,000 cash. This year a $10,000 bonus was available to HOA when shooting a Browning shotgun. Small Gauge HOA could earn an extra $1000 if using a Briley tube set. Products from the sponsors were also awarded.
