Celebrating 50 Years of Browning Knives
Celebrating 50 Years of Browning Knives
Browning has always created cutting-edge products for avid hunters and dedicated outdoorsmen. Along with numerous Browning firearms, during the first several decades of the 20th Century the original Browning Brothers sporting goods catalog offered scores of knives from makers large and small.
Browning first introduced their own line of Sportsman’s Knives in 1969. As with all products carrying our name, these knives were very elegant yet highly functional. Like the popular consumer product styling of the late 1960s, many of these original designs had a definite flare for the dramatic.
Of special note were the rakish angles, brilliantly polished stainless steel blades, hefty brass bolsters and traditional handle materials like bone and hardwood. Like the classic muscle cars of the era, our knives looked like they were going fast even when they were standing still.
Over the next half century Browning’s cutting-edge knife designs evolved with the needs of our customers and the styles of the day. As a leader in making knives as modern as tomorrow, we have long pioneered the use of new steels, exotic surface treatments and space-age handle materials.
Stop by your local Browning retailer or browse through our knives on the site to discover what gives Browning the edge over all other blades.

We have also been a leader in highly-collectable knives to commemorate historic events and legendary personalities. From Crazy Horse and D-Day to John M. Browning’s Greatest Hits, the quality and design of Browning knives has been elevated to a true artform.
