Browning Launches Numerous New-For-2025 Rifles And Shotguns
Published on January 21st, 2025
Browning doesn’t launch a litany of “new name” rifles and shotguns yearly. They never have and likely never will. Instead, Browning works tirelessly to add new options to tried-and-true existing lines, giving those who put their trust in firearms wearing the iconic Buckmark logo the perfect firearm for their shooting mission, whether that mission be banging steel, punching lungs, shattering clays, or filling game bags with upland and waterfowl.
With no further delay, here’s Browning’s 2025 firearm lineup. Spoiler alert: It’s a dandy!
For 2025, Browning furthers the legacy of its X-Bolt 2 line with new family members. The X-Bolt 2 All Purpose is a no-pun-intended “all-purpose” bolt-action rifle. The big story is the 16-1/2-inch heavy sporter contour barrel. Whether you want a short, compact saddle gun or one that allows you to add a 6 or 7-inch suppressor and still have a standard-length rifle, the All Purpose heeds the hunt-ready call.
The Plus Magazine System offers extra cartridge capacity, and promises ease of ejection, loading, and insertion. The OD-Green Vari-Tech Stock is fully customizable (LOP, comb, interchangeable grip modules), and the black overmolded grip surfaces boost handling and give the chambered in .243 Win., 6.5 Cm, and .308 Win. All Purpose a wicked look.
When chances are there will be plenty of air between you and your quarry, lean on the Western Hunter LR’s tack-driving accuracy. Available in multiple long-range calibers, the Western Hunter LR features a sporter contour barrel with a belled muzzle threaded 5/8-24, which allows for a suppressor or other muzzle devices. The threaded break combined with the 1-1/4-inch Inflex recoil pad soaks up shoulder abuse, so you can stay in the glass when a quick follow-up shot is necessary.
The Plus Magazine System offers extra cartridge capacity, and the Vari-Tech stock with Browning OVIX camo is fully adjustable and features overmolded grip surfaces for maximum handling in any weather. The extended bolt handle with improved knob shape makes cycling rapid, and the Picatinny rail at the stock's fore-end makes bipod mounting a breeze.
The X-Bolt 2 Speed, OD Green is available in 11 calibers with barrel lengths between 22 and 26 inches. Ready to fill your freezer and trophy room, the new Forest Shadow Cerakote finish protects better than traditional bluing or bare stainless steel. Like the All Purpose, the OD Green Vari-Tech stock with black over-molded grip surfaces gives the rifle a racy look.
Browning loves to put rifles on the shelf that look as good as they shoot, and the new Flat Dark Earth finish with black overmolded grip surfaces will make this rifle jump off the shelf. The new Desert Shadow Cerakote finish is armor for working metal parts, and available in 11 popular calibers, you’ll have zero trouble finding an X-Bolt Speed, FDE that will suit your next hunting foray.
There’s something nostalgic about a quality wood-stock rifle. Whether it reminds you of following dad or grandpa around the woods or that nothing matches the fit and finish of a classic wood stock in your heart, it doesn’t matter; it’s a daunting task to find a sexier bolt-action than the X-Bolt 2 Speed, Dark Maple. The Dark Maple is available in 11 ready-to-kill or bang steel calibers.
An instant pair of wood-stock classics, the Medallion and White Gold Medallion showcase astounding wood stocks — Grade III gloss finish walnut for the Medallion and Gloss finish Grade V/VI American walnut stock with traditional point and diamond pattern checkering on the White Gold Medallion. Both feature contrasting rosewood fore-end and grip caps. This duo is fit to fill the freezer and be passed down as treasured family heirlooms. Aside from the slightly different stocks, the White Gold Medallion sports a corrosion-resistant stainless steel sporter contour barrel, providing the ideal blend of accuracy and weight savings. The Medallion features a sporter contour barrel, and both receivers are engraved.
Ready to make your hunting dreams a reality, Browning’s Pro and Pro SPR have all-new lightweight carbon fiber stocks with adjustable combs and a feathery, non-reflective matte-blued Pro receiver that promises accuracy and undeniable longevity. The Smoked Bronze Cerakote finish on the bolt and trigger guard provides a two-tone look, and the Smoked Bronze Cerakote Recoil Hawg muzzle brake reduces felt recoil up to 76% (thread protector included). SPR models sport shorter barrel lengths for suppressor use.
The next evolution in the X-Bolt 2 Mountain Pro line is the Tungsten, Smoked Bronze, SPR, Tungsten, and SPR Smoked Bronze. Starting under six pounds, the X-Bolt Mountain Pro family is your go-to if you wander far off the beaten path in rough terrain. The lightweight carbon fiber stock with adjustable comb and two-tone graphics promises customization and pleasing aesthetics, and the sporter contour barrel is spiral-fluted. All models feature a Picatinny accessory rail integrated into the stock and two QD cups for easy sling/accessory attachment. The spiral-fluted bolt is silk, and the rust-resistant Cerakote finish means maximum protection from the elements.
Shatter more clays, climb more podiums, and do it all in style with Browning’s Citori 825 Golden Clays Sporting. Designed to help you dominate any clay course, the Pro Balance System fine-tunes the shotgun’s balance point for repeatable, smooth mounts and swings. The easy-to-adjust comb ensures eye-to-rib alignment, and the Triple Trigger System with three trigger shoes ensures crisp, no-creep trigger brakes.
The Inflex II recoil pad soaks up post-shot shoulder shock, and the HiViz Pro Comp sight and white mid-bead are great for turning orange discs into puffs of smoke. Other must-note features include the gloss oil finish Grade V/VI walnut stock with palm swell and traditional point pattern checkering, scroll engraving with gold accents, gloss-blued barrels, and a durable silver nitride receiver. The Citori 825 Golden Clays Sporting is available in 12-gauge models only.
Browning’s new Citori 825 Golden Clays Trap should raise the eyebrows of every serious trap shooter. The Graco adjustable Monte Carlo comb makes dialing in bead alignment easy, and the adjustable GraCoil Recoil Reduction System boosts comfort and offers a length of pull adjustment to ensure the perfect fit and feel. The included Graco butt pad plate is easily adjustable for angle and location, and with your choice of five extended (F, LF, IM, IM, M), you can make the shotgun’s 70/30 POI shine.
The Citori 825 Golden Clays Trap wears a Pachmayr® Decelerator XLT recoil pad, has Browning’s Triple Trigger System with three trigger shoes, and a HiViz Pro Comp sight with white mid-bead comes standard. The stock is a gloss oil finish Grade V/VI walnut stock with palm swell and traditional point pattern checkering, and classic scroll engraving with accents is present on the silver nitride receiver. The Citori 825 Golden Clays Trap is available in 12-gauge models only.
Whether you’re hoping to dominate clays or swing through hard-flushing, fast-flying upland birds, the Maxus II Golden Clays Sporting makes the perfect companion.
Available in 12-gauge models (28- and 30-inch barrel options), the Maxus II Golden Clays Sporting features a Grade III Turkish walnut stock with a close radius grip, and the Pro Balance weighted magazine cap helps fine-tune the shotgun’s balance point for a smooth mount, swing, and follow through. The stock has an adjustable comb to ensure a perfect fit, and five extended Midas Grade (F, IM, M, IC, SK) choke tubes and HiViz TriComp fiber-optic sight with white mid-bead and 50/50 POI mean ideal shot-to-shot consistency.
The nickel-plated receiver with scroll engraving accents melds with other must-note features, such as the jeweled bolt slide and gloss-finished barrel.
Solid color options have caught fire with consumers, and Browning’s new-for-2025 Maxus 2 Stone and Earth options are pleasing to the eye but disappear in the field. The composite stock with close radius grip and over-molded gripping surfaces guarantees fast, efficient handling in any weather, and the stocks are shim-adjustable for the length of pull, cast, and drop. Available in four models — two Stone and two Earth — the shotguns feature a 3-1/2-inch chamber and barrel lengths of 26 and 28 inches.
The SoftFlex comb feels excellent against the cheek. It promotes proper cheek weld, eye-to-rib alignment and allows you to stay glued to the stock post-shot so you can focus on quick, efficient follow-up shots.
The Maxus II Stone and Earth models have three knurled, extended Invector-Plus (F, M, IC) choke tubes, a fiber-optic front sight, and a white mid-bead.
Don’t fret; Browning never walks away from a good thing. That’s why the A5 Wicked Wing is back for 2025. Still, in addition to the old-school (standard) builds in Realtree Max-7, Mossy Oak Shadow Grass Habitat, and Mossy Oak Bottomland, Browning gives A5 Wicked Wing lovers a dozen new models available in Realtree Legacy, Realtree Original, and Mossy Oak Original Shadow Grass.
The fully chrome-plated bore resists corrosion, and the composite stock with close vertical grip and textured gripping surfaces ensures all-weather performance. All A5 Wicked Wing models come with 1/4 and 1/2-inch stock spaces for LOP adjustment, and a trio of extended Invector-DS Goose Band (F, M, IC) choke tubes lets you dominate the fields, sloughs, swamps, and rivers.
12- and 16-gauge models are available in new and old-school camo options. A5 Wicked Wing shotguns have an oversized Briley bolt release, a fiber-optic front sight, and an ivory mid-bead sight.
Showcasing a Burnt Bronze Cerakote camo finish on the receiver, and Burnt Bronze finish on the barrel, Browning’s Maxus 2 Camo Wicked Wing is now available in 12-gauge only models cloaked in Realtree Legacy, Realtree Original, and Mossy Oak Original Shadow Grass. And, of course, the shotguns are still available in the standard patterns Browning offers yearly.
Born and bred to make all your waterfowling dreams a reality, the Maxus II Wicked Wing is shim-adjustable for length, pull, cast, and drop, features a hardened chamber and bore for added protection against the elements, and three extended Invector-Plus Goose Band choke tubes (F, M, C) let you tailor your pattern to any hunt.
Once again, Browning ups the ante in 2025 by expanding on field-proven warriors to give you more options than ever.
