For this trip, though, it won’t be slot machines, blackjack, and craps. Instead, you’ll spend time at the beautiful Las Vegas Convention Center enjoying the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation’s Hunter & Outdoor Christmas Expo.  

Running from December 7-16, 2023, the RMEF Hunter & Outdoor Christmas Expo coincides with the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR) and brings hundreds of exhibitors featuring the latest hunting gear, firearms, optics, western wear, décor, and much more.

Best of all, besides the event’s location, it’s free and open to the public. This is not a show for industry insiders but an open-door outdoor show that provides the ultimate experience for everything outdoors and hunting. The Hunter & Outdoor Christmas Expo is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

If you have never been, you owe it to yourself to attend. There is a lot to see and do with over 200 quality exhibitors. You can view some of the latest outdoor gear available, just in time to prepare your Christmas Wish List. There are plenty of items you'll want to add; trust me on that. In addition to the exhibitors, the Ariat Rodeo Live Stage will have a daily schedule from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with different programming each hour, including live country music and more.  

And Las Vegas is the city that never sleeps, so there is zero reason for the fun to end at 4 p.m. Following the show, the RMEF hosts live NFR viewing parties each night at several locations at the Palms — the host hotel property for RMEF. Each viewing party will have plenty of viewing screens to enjoy the NFR, exceptional food and beverage specials, live country music, and more. This is a fun event with plenty of activities for the entire family and an opportunity to learn more about and support the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. 

The RMEF, founded in 1984 and based in Missoula, Montana, maintains that hunting is conservation. Through its fundraising efforts, it helps protect, support, and enhance elk and elk habitat while opening more ground to public hunting. Since 1984, RMEF and its partners have conserved or improved over 8.6 million acres.
